Black Baseball History Month!... Baseballer Of The Week!...James Raleigh "Biz" Mackey!

   

Our 'Baseballer of the Week'

for this week 

goes to: 

the Big Black Guy, 6-1, 235 pound catcher, 

slugger, and manager who hit for over .300 

during his career, regarded as black baseball's 

best catcher in the late 1920s and early 1930s, 

because he threw plenty of base runners 

out, plus he was always among the Black 

League's all-time leaders in total bases, 

slugging percentage, and runs batted in, 

so you know that the MLB 

HOF had to welcome

him with open arms 2006, and he had 

other great milestones, 

so we give flowers and say the name of...



...James Raleigh "Biz" Mackey!






Black Basketball History Month, 

celebrated in October each year,  was

founded by Ralph C. Winge, D.D.S.

in 2025 to acknowledge, praise,

and hold high, with cheer, the untold 

numbers of International Black Men 

and Women, both past and present, 

that made us go, "Wow!...Whoa!...

...and...OMGosh!" in their nonstop, 

valiant, and always surprising, 

individual and team 

efforts to put the ball through the 

hoop the most, to win games and 

championships!



The Founder of Black Basketball History Month,

Ralph C.Winge, D.D.S.,

is also a Basketball enthusiast,

and USC Dental School Graduate.

Black Baseball History Month!... Baseballer Of The Week!...Cumberland Posey!

  

The 'Hoopster Of The Week'

for this week 

goes to: 

the Big Black Man who, as a multi-sports 

star, team executive, and businessman, is the 

only person enshrined in both the Pro Baseball 

(2006)and Pro Basketball (2016) Halls of Fame, 

and was considered the best player in the 

country in the 1910s and 20s, plus he was 

the first Big Black Student-Athlete at Penn 

State University in basketball and baseball 

but because of angry white mobs, he had to 

transfer to Duquesene University, where he 

led all basketball scorers for three straight seasons, and 

in the Pros he was a prolific and deep scorer 

like Steph Curry on the team he started and 

managed, the Loendi Big Five, who won 4 

straight Colored Basketball World 

Championships from 1920 to 1923, and he 

did all of this while still playing baseball, 

joining a team as an outfielder, and 

eventually owning the team, called the 

Homestead Grays, which had star players 

like Cool Papa Bell and Josh Gibson, which 

dominated the competition by winning 

9 straight Negro League pennants, 

and way so much more...

Black Legal History Month!...'Lawtist of the Week'...Tyler Mangual Tolbert!


Our 'Baseballer of the Week'

for this week 

goes to:

The Big Black Guy, 5

Beautiful MLB record-setting Man 

who started playing in the big leagues in 

2025, and he is quite the hitter/baserunner/

base stealer where he stole 48 bases in one 

season and lately he got a hit in 12 straight 

plate appearances, which tied a MLB record, 

and he has so many more accomplishments, 

and we give flowers and say the name of...



...Tyler Mangual Tolbert!








Black Baseball History Month was 

founded by Ralph Winge, D.D.S. 

in 2025 to commemorate, place value, 

and get to know, our Heroes, while 

standing and cheering for, the many 

International Black Men who 'Shocked 

and Awed' us with too many to count, 

fantastic and unexpected physical 

heroics at the Ballpark, in exciting 

efforts for their teams to cross home 

plate more than their opponents to win.

Black Baseball History Month!... Baseballer Of The Week!...Norman Thomas "Turkey" Stearnes!


Our 'Baseballer of the Week'

for this week 

goes to: 

the Big Black Guy 6-0, 175 pound center 

fielder who was the only batter to lead in 

doubles, triples, home runs and stolen bases, 

resulting in winning the “Quadruple Crown" 

which happened in 1932, and he led the Black 

National League in home runs six times, and 

he ranks fifth in major league baseball history 

with a .616 career slugging percentage and 

seventh in MLB history with a .348 career 

batting average, plus he won the Black 

League batting titles in 1929 with a .390 

batting average and in 1931 with a .376 

average, and with a season batting average 

of .348 and 167 RBIs, he beats out Joe 

DiMaggio (.325; 143 RBIs), Ted Williams 

(.344; 130 RBIs), and Babe Ruth (.342, 143 RBIs), 

and his average OPS (1.032) is higher than 

twelve white Hall-of-Fame centerfielders, 

including Mickey Mantle and Ty Cobb, 

and he led the Black Leagues in homers 

seven times, so he was finally inducted 

into Baseball's Hall of Fame in 2000,

and we give flowers and say the name of...
