Our 'Baseballer of the Week'
for this week
goes to:
the Big Black Guy 6-0, 175 pound center
fielder who was the only batter to lead in
doubles, triples, home runs and stolen bases,
resulting in winning the “Quadruple Crown"
which happened in 1932, and he led the Black
National League in home runs six times, and
he ranks fifth in major league baseball history
with a .616 career slugging percentage and
seventh in MLB history with a .348 career
batting average, plus he won the Black
League batting titles in 1929 with a .390
batting average and in 1931 with a .376
average, and with a season batting average
of .348 and 167 RBIs, he beats out Joe
DiMaggio (.325; 143 RBIs), Ted Williams
(.344; 130 RBIs), and Babe Ruth (.342, 143 RBIs),
and his average OPS (1.032) is higher than
twelve white Hall-of-Fame centerfielders,
including Mickey Mantle and Ty Cobb,
and he led the Black Leagues in homers
seven times, so he was finally inducted
into Baseball's Hall of Fame in 2000,
and we give flowers and say the name of...

and get to know, our Heroes, while
standing and cheering for, the many
International Black Men who 'Shocked
and Awed' us with too many to count,
fantastic and unexpected physical
heroics at the Ballpark, in exciting
efforts for their teams to cross home
plate more than their opponents to win.
