Our 'Baseballer of the Week'
for this week
goes to:
the Big Black Man, 5-9, 160, who was a
player and manager, and was a 2x All-Star
Gamer that won the NL Batting
Championship in 1966, and he uniquely
played with his two brothers, Jesus and
Felipe to become the only time three
brothers batted in the same half-inning and
the three brothers also played the three
outfield positions in the same half-inning
while their team, the Giants, led the
Pirates 13-5 on September 15, 1963,
and we give flowers and say the name of...
...Matty Alou!
Mr. Alou also had mid-upper-lip
Black Baseball History Month was
founded by Ralph C. Winge, D.D.S.
in 2025 to commemorate, place value,
and get to know, our Heroes, while
standing and cheering for, the many
International Black Men who 'Shocked
and Awed' us with too many to count,
fantastic and unexpected physical
heroics at the Ballpark, in exciting
efforts for their teams to cross home
plate more than their opponents to win.
