Our 'Baseballer of the Week'
for this week
goes to:
the Big Black Guy, a 5-11, 166 pound
Second baseman / Shortstop who was a 2×
All-Star (2014, 2015) and he won a Gold Glove
Award in 2015, a Silver Slugger Award in 2015,
a NL batting champion Award in 2015,
and was a 3× MLB stolen base leader in 2014,
2015, and in 2017, plus he was the most
electrifying sprinter who, when he got on base,
which was often, he would automatically
steal 2nd and third, and throw the pitcher
and fielders off balance, and most fans around
the leagues saw him as pure and fast talent
with a big and happy smile,
Black Basketball History Month,
celebrated in October each year, was
founded by Ralph C. Winge, D.D.S.
in 2025 to acknowledge, praise,
and hold high, with cheer, the untold
numbers of International Black Men
and Women, both past and present,
that made us go, "Wow!...Whoa!...
...and...OMGosh!" in their nonstop,
valiant, and always surprising,
individual and team
efforts to put the ball through the
hoop the most, to win games and
championships!
